NEISD school principal resigns after arrest for alleged assault on family member

Amy Reasons-Copes resigned as principal of Cibolo Green Elementary after being arrested in an alleged family dispute, district officials confirmed.

SAN ANTONIO — An elementary school principal with North East Independent School District has resigned following her arrest over the weekend.

According to the district, 52-year-old Amy Reasons-Copes was arrested Sunday on a charge of assault causing bodily injury to a family member.

In a statement, North East ISD said the arrest was not related to the school or her role as principal at Cibolo Green Elementary School.

District officials said Reasons-Copes resigned Tuesday and is no longer employed by North East ISD. She has since been released on bond.

The district also announced that former Cibolo Green principal Adam Schwab will step in to provide administrative support for the campus during the transition.
