
Officials say a person died after being hit by a truck and a VIA Trans bus along I-10 early Wednesday morning. Police suspect the victim may have intended self-harm.
SAN ANTONIO — A person was killed early Wednesday morning after being struck by multiple vehicles on I-10 on the city’s northwest side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Police said the incident happened around 4 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of I-10 between Fredericksburg Road and Fulton Road.
According to SAPD, an adult who may have been attempting to harm themselves ran into the main lanes of traffic and was struck first by a truck and then by a VIA Metropolitan Transit bus.
Emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene, officials said.
The eastbound lanes of the highway were shut down for several hours while investigators processed the scene. Traffic later reopened Wednesday morning.
Police have not released the identity of the victim. The investigation remains ongoing.
