Pregnant woman allegedly stabbed multiple times by neighbor following an altercation, police say

Police say the victim was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) with non life-threatening injuries.

SAN ANTONIO — Police responded to a cutting that occurred Tuesday afternoon at a trailer park off Highway 87 and Foster Meadows on the city’s far southeast side, where a pregnant woman was reportedly stabbed multiple times by a male neighbor.

According to a SAPD spokesperson, a man got into an altercation with the woman, during which he got upset and punched her, knocking her down. The woman fell face down onto the dirt, landing on her stomach.

During the altercation, police say the suspect grabbed a kitchen knife. An elderly neighbor tried to confront the suspect but was nearly stabbed and stepped away.

The suspect allegedly proceeded to stab the woman in the back several times.

Police say the victim was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) with non life-threatening injuries.

SAPD says they initially believed the suspect had barricaded himself in his trailer following the attack, but it was later discovered that he had left to a relative’s house. That relative then called police to report the man, and units arrived at the location shortly after to take him into custody.

The suspect is believed to be an older man, while the victim is a younger woman in her late 20s.

No weapon has been recovered from the scene yet.

This is a developing story.
