San Antonio police seek help identifying a woman accused of using a counterfeit check to withdraw over $20,000 from a victim’s bank account.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman accused of withdrawing more than $20,000 from a victim’s bank account using a counterfeit check.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the victim discovered the missing funds on March 9, 2026, after being alerted to unusual activity on her account. The bank later determined that a woman seen in surveillance images had allegedly withdrawn the money.

SAPD said the suspect used a counterfeit check to access and remove the funds. Investigators with the department’s Financial Crimes Unit are now working to identify and locate the woman captured in the bank’s photographs.

Police have not released additional details about the suspect but are urging anyone who recognizes the woman or has information about the case to come forward.
