San Antonio Zoo gives tourism workers a wild week of free admission

Frontline travel and tourism employees can enjoy a roaring good time with free entry and family discounts.

SAN ANTONIO — Time to take a walk on the wild side, San Antonio.

San Antonio Zoo is rolling out the red carpet, or should we say jungle path, for National Travel & Tourism Week, offering free admission to local tourism workers from May 4 through May 10.

It’s a well-earned break for the folks who help keep San Antonio’s tourism scene roaring year-round.

From hotel staff to restaurant workers and attraction employees, eligible guests can swing by the zoo for free, and even bring their herd along with up to four half-price tickets for friends and family.

Because let’s face it… even the hardest-working bees deserve a little time to paws and relax.

Visitors can also check out Congo Falls, billed as the tallest and wildest gorilla experience around, a spot that’s sure to make you go bananas.

To get in on the fun, guests will need to show proof they work in the travel and tourism industry, like an employee ID or recent pay stub, along with a valid photo ID.

The zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving plenty of time to roam, explore and maybe even monkey around a little.

So if you help make San Antonio a destination for others… this week, the zoo is making sure you’re the one getting the VIP treatment.
