SAPD on scene of shooting involving police on northwest side

Details are few as of now, but an SAPD patrol car could be seen with its window shattered.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are investigating what they call “an officer-involved shooting” on the northwest side.

No details have been provided as of yet, but a KENS 5 crew on the scene observed a San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) patrol car with its window shattered and another vehicle with visible bullet holes in the parking lot of a strip mall in the area of Vance Jackson and Interstate 10.

A large police presence is on the scene, as well as homicide investigators. It’s unclear how many people, if any, have been shot.

This incident marks the 10th shooting involving SAPD officers so far this year.
