Spurs fans are buzzing as local pop-up shops offer unique gear featuring hot sellers.
SAN ANTONIO — With the Spurs ready to hit the hardwood Wednesday evening for game two versus the Timberwolves, many fans are probably already wearing their Spurs gear. Having that little something that sets your gear apart from the rest, can be a Wemby-sized deal.
Spurs merchandise is flying off the shelves! In fact, you may be having a hard time finding what you’re looking for. You might want to try some pop-up shops, like down at The Vine, near the Pearl on Broadway.
“There’s a lot of energy, great energy, momentum surrounding the Spurs team in the city,” said Leianni De Leon, president of Leanni Media Agency. “And it’s just a great time to be a Spurs fan.”
De Leon runs a Spurs pop-up shop at The Vine. What made her decide to get started?
“When I was telling her about the whole crazy Hispanic Spurs fan that just went viral, she says, ‘Why don’t you buy a heat press and make some t shirts,'” she said.
And boy did she! She’s got plenty of “Go Spurs Go” shirts in different colors. But the Wemby shirts, including a “Wemby the alien” shirt are hot sellers!
“As you can see, the tone of it, the highlights of the green. It really just resonates, you know, with him, his nickname and so forth,” De Leon said.
She’s even got an alien on standby! But if you’re more of a hat person, how about a blinged out Spurs cap complete with maracas, hearts and even the area code 210?
“Those are definitely my vision. Just talking to the client what they would like, what their favorite colors are,” she said.
If you’re wondering about pricing, the t-shirts go for $20, koozies for $5, handkerchiefs and bandanas for $6, and a Spurs cowbell for $8. If you want something customized, check out De Leon’s Instagram.
