Video shows a high-speed chase in Uvalde County that ended with several suspects running into brush before being captured by law enforcement, according to Texas DPS.

UVALDE COUNTY, Texas — New dashcam video from Texas DPS shows a high-speed pursuit in Uvalde County that ended with multiple people running into dense brush before being taken into custody.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the chase happened last week after troopers attempted to stop a Dodge Ram that was speeding and trying to evade law enforcement.

DPS troopers, along with U.S. Border Patrol agents and Sabinal police officers, pursued the truck. Authorities say the vehicle eventually came to a sudden stop, and several people jumped out and ran into thick brush nearby.

Troopers chased the individuals on foot through rugged terrain, and authorities say they were taken into custody one by one.

According to DPS, the driver — who is accused of human smuggling — was arrested at the scene and is now facing charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
