Police say the driver refused to stop, leading officers on a 20+ mile pursuit before surrendering; arrest warrants reveal disturbing details of alleged March attack.
SEGUIN, Texas — A man listed among Bexar County’s most wanted fugitives is now behind bars after a dramatic police chase spanning more than 20 miles—captured on exclusive dash camera video obtained by KENS 5.
According to the Seguin Police Department, the pursuit began around 1:53 p.m. on April 9 when officers with the department’s C.A.S.E. Unit attempted a traffic stop in the 2900 block of West Kingsbury Street.
Police say the driver—identified as 27-year-old Kristopher Shadd Friday—refused to pull over and instead sped off, leading officers on a pursuit toward San Antonio.
Dash cam video reveals just how dangerous that chase became.
At times, Friday’s vehicle appeared to be falling apart—tires shredding, parts flying off—while he continued weaving through traffic and into a truck stop parking lot, putting other drivers at risk.
Officers say the chase stretched from Seguin into East Bexar County before finally coming to an end in the 7000 block of Interstate 10, when the suspect’s vehicle became disabled.
Police say Friday then stuck his arms out of the window and surrendered. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Authorities say Friday was wanted out of Bexar County on multiple violent felony warrants and had been listed on the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Top 20 Offenders List.
Arrest warrants obtained by KENS 5 detail disturbing allegations tied to a violent incident in early March.
According to the affidavit, the victim told investigators she and Friday got into an argument when he grabbed a knife and cut her multiple times while threatening to kill her.
The affidavit states the violence escalated the following day.
Investigators say Friday continued to brutally assault the woman and choked her to the point she nearly lost consciousness.
According to investigators, the victim eventually ran outside to call 911, but told authorities Friday allegedly stood over her and forced her to tell dispatch it was an accident.
Friday is facing a long list of charges including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Terroristic Threat, additional charges of evading arrest in a motor vehicle are expected in Guadalupe County.
After his arrest, Friday was transferred to the custody of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Top Offenders Unit.
Authorities say the arrest highlights coordination between agencies, including Seguin Police, BCSO, and DPS Air Support, to track down and apprehend violent offenders.
