SAN ANTONIO — More local help is on the way to Houston after Hurricane Beryl blew through, downing trees and leaving destruction in her path.
Crews from Home Depot set off for Houston on Thursday morning to aid in disaster relief. A spokesperson with Home Depot did not share specifics, but the company does have a team that responds when natural disasters happen.
Back in 2022 when Hurricane Ian slammed southwest Florida as a Category 4 storm and caused millions of dollars in damages in its wake, Home Depot was there to help.
The Home Depot Foundation and its associate volunteer force “Team Depot” responded providing support, resources and relief supplies to those communities. And now they will have a very similar response in Houston after Beryl.
Dozens of employees from San Antonio, Alamo Heights and Seguin will deploy from the Alamo City. We know they will be there for a week to help in some sort of way.
According to their website, Home Depot has been doing this kind of work since 1992. And not only does their response put people out in the community, sometimes stores even become command centers for relief operations.
