Driver dies after rollover crash on I-10 West, police say

Authorities say a Ford Expedition struck a barrier and rolled over early Sunday morning.

SAN ANTONIO — A driver was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning on the northwest side of San Antonio.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 2:48 a.m. to the 19100 block of Interstate 10 westbound for a major accident.

Investigators say a gray Ford Expedition was traveling on the highway when it struck a roadway barrier on the right side.

Police say the SUV then rolled over before coming to rest in the main lanes of the interstate.

The male driver was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities later confirmed he died at the hospital.

His identity has not yet been released as the investigation continues.
