Driver hits teen in crosswalk on NW Military Highway, then drives off

Police say the suspect stopped briefly before leaving the scene as the injured teen was taken to the hospital.

SAN ANTONIO — A driver is being searched for after hitting a teenager in a marked crosswalk and leaving the scene on the north side of San Antonio.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 7:50 p.m. Saturday to the 2300 block of NW Military Highway near Lockhill Selma Road.

Investigators say a 16-year-old boy was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a 2023 Chrysler 300.

Police say the driver, described only as a woman, initially stopped to check on the teen but drove away after learning police had been called.

The teen was taken to a local hospital with non-critical injuries.

No arrests have been made.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
