Fiesta carnival offering discount after rainy days hurt attendance

Rain dampened attendance at Fiesta Carnival, prompting a Thursday discount. Organizers aim to boost turnout for this vital fundraiser with affordable prices.

SAN ANTONIO — The Fiesta Carnival is offering a deep discount in an attempt to increase attendance after organizers say days of rain early in the week resulted in lost revenue.

The discount is for Thursday, April 23, and is being called “Thrify Thirsty Thursday.”

Carnival organizers are hoping the discount will increase attendance after days of rain resulted in cancellations and meager attendance numbers.

Fiesta is an 11-day “party with a purpose” that generate money for local scholarships and brings in hundreds of millions of dollars in economic benefits for the city.

The Thursday discount deals include:

  • $15 Unlimited Ride Armbands

The discount cannot be combined with other deals and tickets must be purchased at the box office. The Fiesta Carnival takes place at the Alamodome.
