LIVE UPDATES: Spurs look to take commanding 3-1 lead over Timberwolves in Game 4

After a close Game 1 loss, can the Spurs win three straight games to take a commanding lead in the series?

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs have a chance to go up 3-1 in their second-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, all after narrowly losing Game 1 in dramatic fashion.

Victor Wembanyama turned in his best playoff game to date in Game 3, putting up 39 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks, becoming only the fourth player in playoff history to put up those stats.

The other three to put those up? Shaquille O’Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, arguably the best three centers in NBA history.

Did I mention Wemby is 22 years old?

Despite being down 2-1, it’s important to never count out the Timberwolves. This team has made the Western Conference Finals two years in a row for a reason.

As evident by earlier in the playoffs, they play their best basketball when their backs are against the wall.

The eliminated the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 of the first round down Anthony Edwards, Ayo Dosunmu and Donte DiVincenzo. So, this is a team that thrives under pressure.

Let’s see what kind of game we get in Minneapolis for Game 4.

Read on for live updates from the game.

1Q, 7:20 remaining: Spurs: 16, Timberwolves: 12

Unlike Game 3, both teams started making baskets, as the Spurs lead the Wolves 16-12 going into the first timeout.

Stephon Castle is leading the way with seven points on 3-3 shooting from the field, including one three-pointer.
