Man shot multiple times through front door on west side, police say

Police say a man was shot multiple times after an unknown suspect fired through the front door of a west-side home on Ingram Road.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was hospitalized after being shot multiple times through the front door of a west-side residence early Sunday morning, according to police.

The San Antonio Police Department says officers were called around 3:42 a.m. to the 6100 block of Ingram Road for a shooting in progress.

Investigators say an unknown man showed up at the residence and repeatedly demanded to be let inside.

Police say the 43-year-old victim refused to open the door. That’s when the suspect allegedly began firing through the door, striking the man multiple times throughout his body.

The gunman fled the scene before officers arrived.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released an update on his condition.

No arrests have been made, and investigators are working to identify the suspect.

The shooting remains under investigation.
