
San Antonio police are searching for a man accused of assaulting and robbing a woman early Saturday morning on the west side, taking her cash and belongings.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are searching for a suspect following an aggravated robbery early Saturday morning on the city’s west side.
According to SAPD, officers were called around 2:34 a.m. to the 100 block of Prosperity Drive for a reported robbery.
Police said a 41-year-old woman told officers she was paying a 31-year-old man for a service when he noticed she had more cash than the agreed-upon amount. Police said the man demanded additional money and when the woman refused, he assaulted her.
Investigators said the woman ran to get away, but the suspect caught up with her again and struck her with a handgun before taking the rest of her cash and personal belongings.
After the robbery, police said the suspect retreated into a nearby property. When officers arrived, several people at the location ran inside. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
