Man drives himself to hospital after being shot near Stone Oak Parkway

Police say the victim thought someone was shooting at his vehicle before realizing he’d been hit.

SAN ANTONIO — A 31-year-old man drove himself to the hospital after being shot overnight near Stone Oak Parkway, according to police.

The San Antonio Police Department says officers were called around 12:11 a.m. Sunday to a local hospital for a patient suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the man told officers he had just left the 22000 block of Stone Oak Parkway when he heard a loud noise and believed someone was shooting at his vehicle.

Police say the man then felt a burning sensation in his torso and realized he had been shot.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was being treated by medical staff.

Authorities say no suspect information is available at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
