SAPD officer crashes into vehicle while responding to officer-in-trouble call

Police say the other driver suffered minor injuries in the overnight crash.

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio police officer responding to an emergency call was involved in a crash early Sunday morning on the city’s northwest side.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the accident happened around 12:51 a.m. near Interstate 10 West and Briaridge Drive.

Investigators say the officer was en route to an “officer in trouble” call when the patrol vehicle collided with another car.

Police say the driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries, but no one was taken to the hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
